Esther Camealy

Esther Camealy is an author and bereaved mother dedicated to helping others find honest faith in the midst of suffering. Her work is rooted in the conviction: “You can have all this world; Give me Jesus.” In her debut memoir, My Song in the Night: Worshiping When the World Goes Dark, she offers vulnerable, hard-won spiritual insights on surrender and the discovery of God’s sustaining presence in loss.

Esther writes primarily at the dining table her husband, Clint, lovingly built.

She lives with her family in Huntsville, Alabama, where she balances her daily responsibilities while navigating the world of school drop-offs and tackling a relentless mountain of laundry.

about the book

My Song in the Night

This deeply honest memoir invites readers into the Camealy family’s journey through devastating loss, raw grief, and the hard work of worship and surrender in the darkest valley. After receiving a fatal diagnosis for their unborn son, Esther and Clint navigate the long road of anticipatory grief, community support, and the bittersweet blessing of meeting their miracle baby, Isaac, for just forty-three hours. Through every chapter—diagnosis, birth, loss, and the slow, unexpected path to healing—Esther vulnerably explores the intersection of sorrow and faith, wrestling with impossible questions and discovering God’s grace in places she never imagined.

With open-handed candor and gentle wisdom, this book is a companion for parents and families walking through similar pain, as well as for anyone longing to see evidence of beauty and redemption on the far side of suffering. My Song in the Night is a testament to the sustaining power of faith, the comfort of community, and the hope that can rise from the ashes of loss—a song of praise, even when the world goes dark.

If you are navigating profound grief and struggling to reconcile your pain with your belief, let this memoir be a resource for discovering how to hold heartache and hope together.
